Look what I did!

This is my first Digital page! I am SO excited that I managed to do it!!! I did it through Photoshop Elements. My lovely friend Rebecca sent me a link through YOU TUBE which was a tutorial and I couldn't have done it without that! The paper etc. for this page was FREE from Shabby Princess I downloaded them ALL!! I was trying to figure out if I could get clever enough to do this while I am in Beijing. I have a LOT to learn but I am so happy that I have finally finished a page!

Just a little reminder that my store will now be closed until January 09. We leave for Beijing at the end of August but I needed to make sure that all of my orders (especially my overseas ones) were all completed and items arrived safely :)

I have started to get ready for my trip. I have about 5 boxes of Fiber 1 cereal and I have 120 bars of Cadbury's fudge hahaha! I can live on just those if I need to ;)

I am chatting with a lady called Kristen who has been in Beijing for a while now and is staying in the same building that we will be in and she is helping me out, telling me places I can go and things I can do. She has also put me a little package together of pain medications for my kids & wet wipes, vitamins etc. She is SO nice. She is even on the hunt for my Fiber 1 over there. LOVE her! Here is a link to her blog - hey mine will look like hers soon! Maybe not so many words though, I'm not too good at blogging...I'm still quite new at it all.

Make sure you keep coming back and checking in on us :)

Summer Madness!

It seems I am finding it hard to find time to play with my stamps lately - what with my girls home from school. I actually made this one ON my birthday but just haven't found the time to put it on my blog! I am trying to still get my head around the fact that I will be moving to Beijing for 3 months!
I have decided however that I will be closing my EBay store on Tuesday 1st August so that I have time to send the last packages out (make sure they arrive internationally too) and sort out my taxes as we get back in December and less than 2 weeks later we fly to Florida to play at Disney World with family (meeting us from the UK). So I will not be opening my store again until January 1st. It seems SO far away! WOW! Anyway, make sure you get your orders in before then :)

Mine was my 30th (NOT that long ago ;)) when my husband made me a scrapbook titled 'Things I will do when I am 30' he wanted me to do things I hadn't done before so he had booked me tickets to go and see the Corrs at a local winery, a football match between Chelsea & Man United (no David Beckham but there was a streaker on the pitch!) and that year we also went to Paris. I was able to document it all in my lovely scrapbook. Make sure you leave your comment before midnight tonight to secure your entry :D Good luck everyone and thank you for stopping by!

My Green Tu-Tu

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIZZIE ANNE DESIGNS!!! Of course this is their beautiful Ballerina. Doesn't she look FABULOUS in her sparkly green tu-tu? I'm so excited about the flowers on this card. Bo Bunny have come out with a new line of co-ordinating flowers/buttons/brads. I already stock the flowers and brads in my store and the buttons are on their way ;) They are packaged in very cute tins with magnets on the bottom for easy storage - PERFECT! The cardstock is Cosmo Cricket :D I hope you are all having a splendid Monday! Don't forget to click on the Lizzie Anne Celebration link on the left and join in the fun! Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome Little One

Just another little card that I whipped together :) Make sure you keep checking my blog. Lizzie Anne Designs will be celebrating their 2nd Birthday in July and have lots of exciting things going on. Their design team (including me!) are a huge part of it too. So stay posted!!!

Baby bib!

Oh my! This turned out better than expected! My VERY VERY good friend Tanya is having a baby shower this Thursday and I was inspired by Lizzie who was inspired by Lauren. Instead of a baby onesie I thought I would try a dress with a bib! I used my cuttlebug for the swirls and the buttons are all from the Making Memories embellishment jar. The image is from Lizzie Anne's L'Amour set, the ribbon is one of my collections which I sell in my store :) I'm just so excited at how it turned out :D Now I MUST go and lay with my girls. They have been hovering over me all morning waiting for me to finish this card before I take them to the park :)

Beijing here we come!

It's official. On September 1st 2008 we will be going to Beijing for 3 months!!! My husband works for Microsoft and they need him out there for a few months to help set up a new group and we are able to go with him! I am half excited and half scared to death! I've never lived anywhere that didn't speak English. We are currently looking into schools for the girls and also apartments. Even more fabulous than all of this is that my Mother-in-law Elva will be coming to visit for a couple of weeks...THAT I am excited about :D she's used to travelling. I'm not!

Because of this I will be closing my online Ebay store from mid August until January 1st 2009...the reason for December is becasue we get back from Beijing and 2 weeks later we fly to Walt Disney World (opposite corner of America to us!) for a family get together with Elva ;) and also Deb, Rob and Lauren (my beautiful neice). We did this trip 3 years ago in May and had the time of our lives so the only way to top it was to do the same again but at Christmas! We are REALLY looking forward to this trip. So you see I have to close my store. But I will be ready to re-open 1st Jan :)

My biggest fear about going to Beijing is needing more immunizations! :( Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I hope everyone had a lovely Fathers Day - we went on a lovely bike ride. It's a beautiful sunny day here today in Duvall (and about time too!)

CONGRATULATIONS 'Letters from Lizzie' on your one year BLOG Anniversary!!! WOOOO HOOOOO! And to top that she has Blog candy ;) - YUMMY! Yes I made this card especially for her, she is such an inspiration to me and I know she LOVES cupcakes so there just HAD to be one on the card tee hee! Don't you just LOVE that adornit ribbon!!! And of course I have my sparkle back! Almost everything on this card sparkles as I used my glittery Copic markers to colour it in :) I hope everybody had a fabulous weekend - I did although now I am getting a cold - my daughter Lynzee just loves to share her germs!

Pow of RED!

Yes I used my Copics! I'm so in love with those! I also used my Adornit ribbons aren't they scrummy! Black and red are so powerful! I just love how this turned out! Well I got all of my scrapbooks done for my daughters school, I was able to tidy up my family room - it no longer looks like a craft store exploded in there! Hahahaha! They turned out cute. There are only about 6 boys albums left to do but I am hoping that some other Mum's do those as I'm not very good with boy things - I'm a girly girl through and through :) I told the teacher that if she didn't mind girly boy albums that I would do them...tee hee! I did do 5 and was as masculine as I could be but of course flowers still made their way in there...along with a few sparkles of course ;)

Oooooh Copics are FUN!

So I played with my new Copics yesterday and had a LOT of fun! This is Lizzie Anne Designs Fun to be Floral set and I coloured in part of the flower and then glitzed it with the Copic Clear sparkle pen! It looks gorgeous! This is my sister Paula on her wedding day - my sister Lynn took this photo, she definitely captured a moment :) Paula has been on my mind a lot lately, she's not well and has just had a major operation which was very successful thankfully! Paula I love you squillions! Get well soon!

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

I have been waiting FOREVER for these to arrive! I have a few sets in my store :) I'm going to have SO much fun with these, maybe it will give me my card making mojo back! I remember playing with these at CHA and oh boy they are good. Especially the Sparkle Pens, made with tiny particles of glass no less! The clear Sparkle pen is the best! It's really clear - not silvery like most and you won't believe how sparkly! Right, off to make a card, see you later :D

It's all about the bling!

It's baa-aack! Yes because I have tried a few cards with no bling and no girlyness I went a little bit mad with this one!!! Hahaha! This is Lizzie Anne's Fun to be floral set and I also used Cosmo Cricket paper and Adornit Ribbon and of course I used a punch! The giga circle. All of these items can be found in my store :) Oh the tag was made with a Spellbinders die. I used it on my Cuttlebug and it worked great! It's feels so good to get back to using the sparklies again, I'm just not cut out for 'simple'.

Maggie & Evie

I just have to post a little something more about these 2 little girls. I promise I will post another card soon :) I had such a lovely time in Montana visiting Carrie & Joe and their 2 beautiful little baby girls. It's amazing to see such little babies and knowing all that is being done to help them grow...just amazing. I can't wrap my mind around it! This is Carrie with Maggie 13 days old. Please feel free to visit their website MayDayGirls I wish we lived closer :(

More trees :)

So I have a confession, as you may have noticed my blogs are few and far between - I'm finding it hard to get back into routine since my Mum left. This weekend we are going to Montana to see friends of ours that had Twin baby girls 15 weeks early! They are both under 2lbs but are little fighters. Please have them in your prayers. Their names are Evelyn Mae and Margaret Ann.
This card was hard for me...do you notice anything missing...yep, bling! Oh my that was so difficult to stop without putting on my sparkles. I don't think I will be able to do that again! Well I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, we are supposed to get a heatwave YAY! Unfortunately we will be in a car for 8 hours tomorrow though! Should be a pretty drive through the mountains though.

Back to normality

Well my Mum went home and all the Shopping Malls within a 30 mile radius are weeping ;) We are very sad that she had to go home. It felt very quiet and lonely this morning without her once the girls had gone to school. My car is in the garage not knowing why it isn't driving to a Mall today!!! Hahahaha! it's back to normality now.

In the Treetops

I made this card at my Girly Scrapbook Retreat last weekend! We had a LOT of fun. I got 36 pages and 3 cards made!!! AND I used all of my old stuff - nothing new! I'm such a good girl. My Mum is still here, we have been to see the tulips and that was beautiful. She leaves on Wednesday evening - it will be said to see her go. I have really enjoyed shopping with her, honestly we have been shopping almost EVERY day! My feet have not had time to touch the floor! Anyway, hope you are having a nice weekend. We have rain :(

My Mum LOVES JCPenny!!

My Mum arrived Monday night and we have already had 2 full days of shopping at JC Penny - 2 different ones at that! This is a photo of me carrying all of the items we wanted to try on. My Mum has just had an operation on her foot so I was getting a very good workout! I have been having a lot of fun shopping :) I apologize for the lack of cards on my blog lately, I just can't find the time!!! Having too much fun with my Mum. I will be popping in every now and then and maybe a card will be made but no promises. My Mum has flown all the way from the UK (5,000 miles) and so I want to spend all of my time with her. I'm sure you understand ;)

Kitchen - Phase 2

This is why I haven't been blogging lately - LOTS of very late nights refacing my kitchen. I am SO happy with it. We got the door from Reface Depot online they sell the same door that Home Depot do but for a fraction of the price. As you can see we started with the countertops (shown in the before photo on the right)

Let me know what you think :)

Lizzie Anne Design Challenge #22

I have been wanting to use this cupcake since I got it! This is for the Lizzie Anne Design challenge this week. The twist was to add some circles. This card was a challenge for me, I had to tell myself to stop - don't add anything else. I pat myself on the back for that but I am itching to add something - I don't know what but something! I'm not good at clean and simple - I need BLING! Hahahaha! i bet it has some added before this day ends :D

Well we had 4 inches of snow last night!!! My poor daffodils are buried :( My girls have been having a lot of fun with the snow - VERY exciting! They made a Kitty, a Dog, a Rabbit, a person and a bird! All out of snow - how very clever! We took a photo but you can't really make them out which is a shame because they worked so hard on them :)

Cardstock: Bazzill Bling & SU Whisper White
Ink: SU So Saffron & Always Artichoke
Tools & Embellishments: Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirl, Marvy Giga Scallop Rectangle & Adornit Swirly Ribbon
I had a lot of fun making this card. I decided I would dust off my cuttlebug and actually use it hahaha! I have only 2 emboss folders, this swirly one and then a snowflake one! I really must invest in a few more ;) The Ribbon takes center stage here, I absolutely LOVE this ribbon, Creative Impressions have a few different colours too. I'm off to get my taxes sent off (finally!) it's at times like this that I wish we lived in England and to top that it's SNOWING!! Quite heavily too!

Spellbinders Nestabilities!!!

I am SOOOOOO excited, a bunch of my Nestabilities came so they are now in my store :) This picture shows what the dies can do - as well as die cutting you can emboss with them and stencil with them too!!! I still have a few of them on back order - all the new long rectangles and the new tags but I do have some of the classics! Now I need to figure out how to use them with my cuttlebug - hmmm, this is going to be fun! I will post another card later today...I have to do a few household chores first and then my mind will be free to be creative. Right now all I can think about is all the ironing I have to do!!!

It's my very first one and it was given by the FABULOUS Dawn at Buggin' around she so nice and her creations are gorgeous!
It's the Arte Y Pico award! I am completely thrilled! Apparently the "Arte Y Pico" (Art & More) is given to bloggers who share their art and creativity making their contribution to the blogger world. My turn to pass it on :) I choose Carol at Crazy for Crafting and I have just realized it's her Birthday today so Happy Birthday to you :D, I also pick Dawny P at Pink Piggy , Dawn at All Pink Girl , I would also like to give it to Tricia at Letters from Lizzie (she is a very busy lady) at lastly I would like to send it back to Dawn at Buggin' around (linky above)...she inspires me too :D (It didn't say I couldn't do that in the rules ;) ) I've just realized how many Dawn's inspire me!!!
Here are the rules:

1) You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogging community, no matter what language.

2) Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.

3) Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.

4) Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of "Arte y Pico" blog , so everyone will know the origin of this award.

5) To show these rules.

Updated Kitchen! (Phase one)

We have been SO busy this weekend. We had new Quartz countertops fitted on Friday (Yay no more grubby tile grout to scrub with a toothbrush!) and so Saturday I spent 12+ hours painting the kitchen, hallway and nook. 12 hours!!! There was a LOT of edging! John (my clever husband) was the Gas Man...a plumber...and a tiler!!! among other professions! A very productive day. The next step will be refacing the cabinets. We found a fabulous direct buy website which only costs a fraction of the price that you would buy it from Lowes or Home depot for the exact same product :D Now I have chairs to fit together...I promise I will make a card today and post it by this evening. Right now I need to help at my daughters school...if I don't mark the Math homework then nobody will!!!! Hahahaha!

Lizzie Anne Design Challenge

You can find the Lizzie Anne Design Challenger here. The challenge was to keep it green in honour of St. Patrick's Day :) The BEST thing about this card...I used all scraps! What a good girl I am :) HAPPY St. PATRICK'S DAY TO EVERYONE!!!

Wednesday, March 12, 2008

Stamps: Lizzie Anne Designs High Hellos
Cardstock: SU Eggplant Envy (yes it's the old stuff!), Bazzill Bling & Gypsy by Basic Grey
Ink/Markers: SU Markers & Brilliance Graphite Black ink
Embellishments: Diamond Stickles & butterfly punch
So I actually made this card on Monday but for the rest of Monday I Spring Cleaned the downstairs of my house - SO - to congratulate myself I have been shopping since :) Tuesday I bought myself a beautiful springy dress (Spring WILL arrive soon!) and also found the PERFECT pair of capris, it's so hard to find the perfect pair...now I wish I had bought two!!! Anyway today my very good friend (she's like a sister to me) Tanya invited me to go to Costco with her. So 2 days of shopping! My kind of life! I still have SUCH a big to-do list, it's so long it's off putting! I'm taking babysteps...it's the one great thing I learned from FLYlady. Oh and the 10 minute dash is a LIFESAVER! My kids love it when I set the timer and tell them we only have 10 minutes to tidy their playroon and bedroon AND it actually works and instead of them dawdling it motivates them to speed up. More time for playing :D It's a WIN WIN.

For my Beautiful niece Emma...

I wanted to create something really special for my lovely Niece Emma. I am a terrible Aunty and forgot her Birthday! I love how this card turned out. All these buttons are from the Making Memories Noteworthy jar and then I also used a swirl from Lizzie Anne's So Swirly set. I'm feeling much better today - still got a bit of a thick head and a delicate stomach but I did manage to get some housework done which must mean I am feeling better. Chloe is also doing great. She went back to school today - boy I wish I could bounce back as fast as she did! Thank you everyone for your kind wishes :)
